Yamsk-11 is the unofficial name of a secret town in Siberia, Eastern Russia. It was built in the middle of the 20th century to house classified several research facilities, but was abandoned in the early eighties.
One of its research programs was centered on the development of the TAROS, which led to the creation of the Whispered.
History[]
Yamsk-11 was created by the Soviet government at the request of Professor Demitri Valov, to hide an underground research complex for supernatural science, notably the "Domain that comprehends all (Omni Sphere)" - a form of telepathy and future prediction.
Once a suitable site was located within an isolated mountain valley, Valov built a facility deep below the surface, where he tested a means to connect the real world to the future via an alternate dimensional energy, called the Omni Sphere.
One of the side-effects of Omni Sphere experimentation is a significant radiation release, and a subsequent wave of energy that creates a sense of Déjà vu in people located in the surrounding area. The intensity and recurrence of these Déjà vu leads to heavy disorientation in people, making them quickly lose their bearings and in extreme cases; their minds.
After a large scale incident at the Yamsk-11 TAROS occurred in the early 1980's, the township went into complete disarray and was abandoned. Subsequently, almost all records of Yamsk-11's existence were removed by the Soviets to cover up its activities, and the town was "lost" .
Following its abandonment, the infrastructure of the town quickly decayed in the harsh environmental conditions.
In the early 2000's, both Mithril and Amalgam forces discovered the site and converged on it to investigate the TAROS. This led to a brief battle to seize control of the facility.
